Privacy Policy

Image Compressor by Qanen (“we”, “the tool”) is built so that we never need to see your images. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your data when you use the site.

Your images

All compression runs locally in your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your images are not uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server we operate. We have no access to the files you process, and there is no account or upload endpoint to store them.

Information we do not collect

• We do not run first-party analytics or tracking scripts on this site.
• We do not sell, share or rent any personal data.
• We do not require sign-up, so we do not hold names or email addresses.
• We have no upload endpoint, so there is no request log that could contain your images.

Local storage

The interface remembers a couple of preferences in your browser’s localStorage — for example your chosen light/dark theme. This stays on your device and you can clear it anytime through your browser settings. A service worker also caches the app shell and the WebAssembly codecs so the tool keeps working without a connection.

Third-party requests

We are deliberate about listing every one of these, because a privacy claim you cannot check is not worth much. Two third parties are contacted by your browser, not by us:

• Google Fonts serves the Geist and Material Symbols Outlined fonts. Your browser makes these requests directly, and Google can see the IP address involved as part of normal web traffic. Once cached — including when you use the tool offline — no such request is made.
• Google AdSense may display advertising on this site. Ads are selected and served by Google, which means Google sees information about the visit in accordance with its own privacy policy. We do not pass your images, filenames or file contents to Google or to any advertiser — the compression pipeline never sends them anywhere.

You can verify all of this yourself: open your browser’s DevTools, switch to the Network tab, and compress a photo. The only requests you will see are for fonts, ads and static files. There is no request carrying your image, and no POST to any endpoint we operate.

Children

The tool is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children; we do not knowingly collect data from anyone.
